Re: [Usability] Galeon (in Ximian2 )and probably all GTK2 versions

Switching applications isn't the solution to usability or interface problems. Galeon is a good browser, fast and not bloated (or not more then you make it). If it comes to user interface Galeon is one of the best programs around I think. I found navigating around Galeon always very intuitive. The concept is great but implementation of certain functions has been overlooked I suppose.

It's in good old linux tradition to do it yourself if no-one does it for you, but this option has been implemented before and it shouldn't be that hard to do it again. But as far as I can see Galeon and Ephiphany cover the same niche, and as far as competitive exclusion applies to software I'm afraid that Ephiphany will always be Galeon's little brother.

If you like galeon but want better usability then you really should look

Currently the bookmark system is bizarre and may annoy you, but Ephiphany
happened when the guy who created Galeon felt he could no longer direct
Galeon.

If you will forgive the crude expression:
"The epiphany developers have a hard on for usability"

That is not to say Galeon wouldn't benifit from some usability attention
but i expect they are trying to find a different niche.
