[Usability] Recent (Missing) Files

I just noticed this on the new GNOME (2.3), I opened up the file roller
application and it had it's own recent files listing, one of the files in
the list didn't exist anymore or moved, I don't remember which. But file
roller tried to open it and failed, however then that file, I'll call
"X-File", apeared in my "open recent" list off of the actions menu.

I think the X-File should only appear there if it still exists or was
at least opened successfully. If the program failed to open the X-File I
would think it either wouldn't add it to the recent files or delete it
from the recent files after a failure, so that it doesn't appear on the
global recent files list.

Also the program should then remove X-File from its recent list as well,
since it obviously can't find it. Maybe if there was a way for the
program to find X-File it should just do that, but until that happens I
would think it wouldn't remember it after I tried opening it once and
failed.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
