Targetting the menu is only half of the story. What are you going to
want to point to next? Most likely something in the application window.
In the GNOME case, the application window is closer than in the Mac
case, so we can make up the lost speed in step 2, right? (Ah, if only
Fitts' Law could figure out whose handwaving was more accurate :-)
