Leif is dead right. I was confused until somebody told me about ctrl+l.
It cannot be described as very discoverable. If GNOME is about to get
rid of this functionality alltogether, then be done with it and provide
something to bring something in place. Otherwise, make this
discoverable. I'm a user, and lucky to know such a cryptic thing, but
most people are not. This desktop is supposed to be made for these
famous "most people", no?
