I am volunteer to make the icons design, if needed. I have been working
a bit on the panel recently, but I am still a little unfamiliar with
"standard" procedures for doing this : should I be
telling/asking/warning anyone else before I start trying to work on
those ?

Many icons won't require a lot of work, but some of them might a little
mindwork to make them two-tone. I think I'll just choose a color (for
example, the default Clearlooks blue), make them blue+white, and let
this blue easy to change into something else.
