So far I just mean me.  (I've been using a single main menu setup for
about a decade due to a combination of Windows 95 and others so I'm
understandably reluctant to change.)  I try but it is hard to know what
all distributions do, I'm not sure if any distributions override the
current Gnome defaults.  IIRC there is a "main menu applet" which is
different from and more extensive than the foot+Applications menu, which
might still need the term you want to use.
