[Usability] launching a program and changing workspace

Hello gnome developers,

I am a gnome user (2.10) with ubuntu.
The problem is the following: when I launch a program i.e. firefox it may be normal to wait for it.
But if I change workspace when that program is loading the program will
appear in the last workspace and not in the workspace I choose before
launching it.
In my opinion this is conterintuitive and annoying. A program may take
30 seconds to start and in the meantime I may have to do other things
and then, suddenly it appears over!
I think it is an important issue. What do you think about?
