So I got past this compile point after checking every idl file on my
system. Now I cannot seem to get past libbalsa choking on ld with a
switch. I checked the mailing list archives and see a lot of
references to libbalsa. The numerous errors look like this:
filter-edit-callbacks.o: warning: previous common is here
main-window.o: warning: multiple common of `filter_errno'
filter-edit-callbacks.o: warning: previous common is here
../libbalsa/libbalsa.a(filter-funcs.o): warning: multiple common of `filter_errno'

../libbalsa/libbalsa.a(filter-error.o): warning: multiple common of `filter_errno'

I get a whole bunch of these. I have installed a lot of the devel
stuff to get to this point. Im kinda lost regarding the
filter-edit-callbacks thingee.
