Nope, I don't get a macros directory.

I tried the symlink as you suggest. This means that autogen.sh now
runs, and balsa appears to configure OK, but make fails (in the macros
directory:-)

Now type `make' to compile Gnome Balsa
jules@pear% make
8:32AM
Makefile:422: macros/macros.dep: No such file or directory
cd macros && make macros.dep
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/gnome-cvs/macros'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `../configure.in', needed by
`Makefile.in'.  Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/gnome-cvs/macros'
make: *** [macros/macros.dep] Error 2

*sigh*

I'm goign to try a fresh checkout.
