maybe we should say input filters and output filters :)
output filters are nice for some stuff, but i'm guessing a pgp4pine
type thing gets cumbersome when you want to sign an attchment,
encrypt another, and use your other key to sign the body.
anyway, for pgp4pine a configurable "Local mail user agent" would
be enough (and usefull for other kludges)
