Error on checking POP3 server

Hi,

I have just installed Balsa 0.8.1 on RedHat 6.1 and set up the servers
correctly, I think. When I click on the Check button, or try to check the mail
in any way I get the following error:

Error: p P@p P@ol/mail/h  @h  :No such file or directory (Errno = 2)

The application doesnt crash and I am getting two warnings for each POP account
that it tries to check (there are multiple POP accounts set up).

I installed the client from the $HOME/ directory in su.

Help would be appreciated.
