Sorry, should have said, I'm using 0.9.3.

By 'nicer', are you saying it's intentional that it uses the same 
background as the toolbar?

I have to say that I find Gnome's themes to be rather buggy; 
I tend to stick to a simple one, but every now and then I have a play.
