I suspect it is a problem, does the output suggest that any progress is
being made? sometimes Make can get in to a loop and just keep doing the
same thing over and over again (this can happen if you have generated
files and they aren't in quite the right automake rules..)

I don't know if pspell has a mailing list, but they are more likely to be
able to help...
