It's happened several times with this version - sending any mail at all causes
the seg fault. It crashes in the same way with my compiled version or with
the RPM from the website.

> Reproducible?

It is here. It's consistent as heck. The only way I can send out mail is if I
use the older version of Balsa. This is with sending a NEW message, but it
also happens with trying to reply as well.

> Which charset was involved?

I have no idea - whatever the default is for english.

English (en_GB, iso-8858-1) ?? (Not sure if this is the correct answer, but
it's what Balsa tells me from the Language menu.

> + 2. version of glibc?

rpm -q glibc
   glibc-2.2-12
   glibc-2.1.3-22

I'll uninstall 2.1.3-22 and report if the situation is resolved.

> + 3. you you have a separate iconv library installed?

Not to my knowledge. There appears to be iconv in my bin directory...

iconv -V
     iconv (GNU libc) 2.1.3

Hmm, I see a pattern here, Pawel. I'll report back once I've removed the old
glibc and see if that solves the problem.

-------------------

OK, I've removed glibc-2.1.3-22, and in so doing that also removed
/usr/bin/iconv

I started with the tarball for Balsa, compiled with --enable-esmtp and have the
same results.

Meanwhile if you have any suggestions for me to try, please let me know.

Cheers,
Gaelyne
