You can't do *anything* about internet message formats without reading the
standards first!

You can get RFCs pretty much anywhere.  For mail related stuff www.imc.org
is a good starting point.

multipart/signed and multipart/encrypted
	RFC 1847

PGP/MIME - Gnu GPG probably has all you need for this.

S/MIME - all the stuff for this is probably in OpenSSL
