Ooops I had misunderstood which CVS. I guess I'm a bit too enthusiastic 
about filters in CVS :)
Anyway if you really want the search feature, use the filters patch (be 
somewhat cautious, they are as tested as possible, that does not mean 
perfect :) with a fake mailbox where you copy the matching messages from 
the mailbox you're are searching in.
