Installing 1.2.3

Hi,
I have the rpm version of Balsa 1.2.0 installed on my SuSE 7.1 machine. I
installed it using SuSE's Yast. I would like to try out Balsa 1.2.3, but I
would like it not to touch my 1.2.0 version , since it is working pretty
good. Can I install the tarball in, say my home directory and run it from
there without touching the 1.2.0 version?
