Selecting viewers

I'm having trouble associating new apps with mime types.  There was 
some discusssion about this a few days ago and different people seemed 
to be getting different results.  I really think balsa should be doing 
something different than what it is doing.

I have an application I use for M$-Word files, files with mime type 
appplication/msword.  In gnome it's fine in the sense that when I 
double click on a Word file in Nautilus the application pops up.  But 
when someone sends me such a file balsa says

	No open or view action defined in GNOME MIME for this content 
type
		Content Type: application/msword

Is balsa not checking the user.mime file?
