error with balsa 1.4.1 during make

When I try to 'make' balsa-1.4.1 I get the following error, configure
having run with out any apparent problems.
usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldb1
collect 2: ld returned 1 exit status
RedHat 7.0 kernel 2.4.9
Any clue as to how to put this right that would be mucho appreciated.
