Not necessarily! It was carried over from pre-Balsa2, and there may
well be a more Gnome2ish way to do it. There's a whole new chunk of
libgnomeui dealing with icon themes and looking them up, and we've been
advised (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99088) that it's the
way to go. There is at last some documentation
(http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/libgnomeui/index.html), so
perhaps we can soon replace some home-brewed code with the new stuff.
