This is balsa's fault - it should send

tag SELECT "public\\info\\ALT"

or similar, UTF-7 encoded string. Actually, balsa never tries to quote  
properly, it rather falls back to UTF-7 enconding. I have no idea at  
the moment why it does not work. I will check what goes wrong there...
