Hello,

Afer a long break, Balsa team announces the release of balsa-2.4.0 available at
http://pawsa.fedorapeople.org/balsa/ (changed location! We look for a nicer URL). The most important change is probably the changed library requirements - see below for details. Another important fact is that gnome.org - and balsa as well - moved to using git as the version control system.

You can download balsa-2.4.0 directly from
http://pawsa.fedorapeople.org/balsa/balsa-2.4.0.tar.bz2

$ sha256sum balsa-2.4.0.tar.bz2

$ sha1sum balsa-2.4.0.tar.bz2
d044042404b549d8cc9a19dfb68da5add921616d balsa-2.4.0.tar.bz2

$ md5sum balsa-2.4.0.tar.bz2
47d68219a5ee768f1ebd2502a9c3c6f2  balsa-2.4.0.tar.bz2

Some highlights:
- GMime-2.4, GLib-2.16, and Gtk-2.14 required.
- use libunique as an alternative to BonoboActivation, whenever available.
- compile and run on Mac OSX.
- VCALENDAR and VEVENT handling.
- deprecation cleanup.
- message threading improvements (eg. thread selection) and fixes.

Happy mailing!

On behalf of Balsa team,

Paweł Sałek
