Try --without-gtkspell

I had the same issue.

Despite what ./configure --help says, in the gtk3 branch you always configure GtkSourceView-3.  Take a look at the configure summary--it should say Use "GtkSourceView: 3", regardless of what you specify.  Memo to self: fix configure.in!
