There always is a way. Your way is just one example.
As for a comfortable way: I don't know one. I just imagine you could
try:
1. to tune a MTA (like postfix) to try to send to one SMTP, then to
another
2. invent some kind of Network Profile system, that switches your
current SMTP server.
No easy way here, sorry.
