Hi,

it looks like Balsa still uses the structure GtkAction which is deprecated in gtk+-3.10.6 (its definition is contained in /usr/include/gtk-3.0/gtk/deprecated/gtkaction.h

Hi,

I confirm the issue. This action group API turned out to be rather unstable. Fortunately, fixing this looks fairly straightforward (famous last words! :).

Ah, yes...Balsa itself was purged of that API a while ago, but balsa-ab, the address book editor, is yet to be worked on. One issue is whether it should be a GtkApplication or continue to be a GtkWindow--as I recall, that affects how GtkAction is replaced in the menus. Standalone GNOME apps are encouraged to be GtkApplications, but is the editor a standalone app?

At some point in time, I thought it would be nice to have it as a separate tool. Right now, I think it would be better to add edit functionality directly to balsa and drop balsa-ab entirely.

Is there any hope that balsa will build with recent versions of gtk+ like gtk+-3.12.2 ?

Thanks,
Helmut
