Our dear Ubuntu packager got his wires crossed and mistakenly uploaded a git build to the stable PPA. Upon realizing his mistake, he immediately auto-punished himself by repeatedly slamming his head on his desk. We still love him, even though he's probably got a big bump on his forehead now. ;) Apparently, this situation is not easily fixable, as launchpad does not allow you to upload a packge with a version number lower than an existing one. I'm not a packager, so I'd be happy to be corrected. > Anyway: > > I deactivated the stable ppa, deinstalled banshee (sudo apt-get purge > banshee), installed it again, configured the last.fm plugin (which does not > require authentication btw in that version, 1.6 Beta 2 (1.5.1)). Scrobbling works for me, making it hard to find the source of the problem ;) So please post any information on the following bug, in particular the information requested in my last comment there : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=603625 > I would have expected that the version from the stable ppa would be just > that: stable and working properly.
