I ran banshee-1 --debug and attached the output to the bug report. I
also figured out how to use gtkpod, and it was able to remove the
phantom songs from the nano's database and successfully transfer songs
to the nano. I'm not a big fan of gtkpod's interface, and I think my son
would have a much easier time with banshee, if it were able to work.
