Thanks David. I 'll skip the flakiness of the dev version on my main nachine, but at least I know a fix is coming and I can stop searching for a fix. In the meatime, I'll manage the covers manually.
thanks too for the procedures. I have another machine I can test them on.

I'm running 10.04, but added the PPA to upgrade banshee to 2.0.0. Existing
covers (which are embedded in the songs via Jaikoz) came across fine.
However, if I drop in a new CD and allow Banshee to copy that CD into the
library, it does not get the cover.
I tried removing the music from the library (NOT deleting it), and then
doing a re-scan, with no success.
I'm did this upgrade just before setting up my wife to use banshee with her
iPod, and am trying to fix this before she declares it just "broken."
Any suggestions?
Just after the 2.0.1 release a problem was fixed with MusicBrainz which is normally used to fetch CD metadata during CD import. I am unfamiliar with Jaikoz but you may have luck trying 2.1.0 (though note this is on the Development branch and due to the dbus-sharp change extensions are likely to be.. flaky).

Procedures for testing and reverting to the stable ppa can be found here:
