[Banshee-List] Stream recorder

Hi,

I've read a few posts about this though I just wish to clarify a few points
.

When I select the encoder option for 'unchanged stream' instead of recording
the original stream to disk I get a useless file with a unreadable extension
.  

So can't Banshee record the original stream and include the original encoder
.mp3,ogg etc .

Or does Banshee have to re-compress/encode the file again? . by choosing the
encoder .

If so what is the point of the unchanged stream option ? .Is it a option
that simply does not work?
