gconf-editor stopped working

After my latest updates (gconf gnome-libs) gconf-editor has stopped
working

It segfaults complaining that 


GConf Error: Bad key or directory name:
 "": Must begin with a slash (/)
Segmentation fault

on any category

anyone any ideas

Current gnome2 (as of about 2pm gmt)
