BTW, just to clarify, I'm not suggesting the mock-up I posted a link to
earlier should be The New GNOME Search Tool or anything, or undermine
the work that's recently been done on gsearchtool... apart from anything
else I spent little more than an hour or two on the mock-up, and it
still has its own usability problems.  (But of course if there are any
parts of it that can be usefully borrowed before the appropriate 2.0
gates close, then borrow away.)
