We are already working to standardize gnome/kde on
/usr/share/applications and "vfolders" - I'd rather encourage Debian
to move to that, because it's better.

One of the key reasons its better is that you can rearrange and modify
the menus by editing a single file. And we don't have to agree on the
categories/folders found in the menus in order to standardize the
system.

Being able to customize by editing a single file is an absolutely
essential feature in my mind. Otherwise admins can't really customize
the menus.
