Theming the splash screen

Perhaps this has been discussed early.
It would be nice if we make the splash screen themable, adding a new tab
to the Theme capplet.
We should add also a GConf entry so gnome-session can use a user
specific splash image.
What do you think? Can I start to hack it (next Saturday maybe) for
GNOME 2.1?
