You know what the funny thing is.  Nautilus had this ability to be a
webrowser for about 2 seconds in 1.4.  I got all excited and thought
this would be the best thing since sliced bread.  That is until I used
it and relized, I don't even like being in nautilus.  Don't get me
wrong, I think it is a wonderful and useful program but it it boringly
generic as a file manager should be.  I go in and want to get out as
fast as possible.  Nautilus is good like that.  It is in the background
until I need it and quickly goes back after I am done with it.  I much
rather spend my time in evolution reading the jucy tidbits of rumors for
the various gnome mailing lists or in the super speedy and sleek Galeon
for surfing the web.  Each interface tailors itself perfectly to its
specific job.  I would think a better direction would be for the mime
stuff to be hashed out and for nautilus to better integrate with
external programs (it gets better with each release). Perhaps a quick
launch toolbar that shows the icons of all the programs a specific file
can be opened in or filters that show only files of a specific type.  I
rarely want to open up just one file so the whole embedded view thing is
lost on me.   Like I said I much prefer individual programs that are
fast and lean because they have highly defined tasks.  Perhaps a fast
tabbed nautilus interface where all embeded views were put in its own
tab would change my mind but I like direction Gnome is currently going
in.  It has something it lacked in the 1.0 series which is focus. 
Mozilla seems to be getting some too so both projects will complement
each other well.  Keep up the good work.
