Keyboard accessibility features (traditionally called AccessX)
can put the keyboard into various states.  In the CDE version of
this functionality there was a status dialog that could provide
visual feedback.

Things like latch/lock state of sticky keys, and whether the system
is enabled.  Chema did some initial work on this.  Getting the
information is trivial.  The main hold up was deciding how to
display the information accessibly.  The best choice for display
would use some custom drawing, which would unfortunately not be
accessible by default.
