personally, after reading the bug report and the belief by the
developer that it is fairly simple (and already being worked on), I
would think that there would be a good case to break the feature
freeze in this one case.

A contributary factor is that ggv has removed printing support
apparently, which has had an effect on gpdf which was not expected.
