I sort-of saw that. I tried to fix a bug with nautilus 2.4/2.6
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127040 . There are various
ways to open a file. There is a method for opening a file/folder
directly with the default application delegating the task to gnome-vfs
as opposed to the method that involves nautilus more when the user right
clicks on the file and selects open with SomeApplication. The first
method didn't handled well the case when a file has a different default
application than its mime type. It might be a bug in gnome-vfs or an
incomplete context for the delegation.

By the way I used eclipse and cdt for that and it performed nicely. I
saw that redhat has some plans for the up-coming cdt 2.0 and that's
great. Isn't it nice to be able to do so many things efficiently within
a great environment.
