There are some API additions in gnome-vfs:
* gnome_vfs_url_show() and related calls
 These are from Frank Worsley and is an extended moved version of 
 gnome_url_show.
* gnome_vfs_make_uri_from_input_with_dirs
 Similar to gnome_vfs_make_uri_from_input, but can look for files relative to 
 the current or home directory.
* jrb is working on the mime system
 We don't know yet if this will be done on time, so I'm not sure what the
 API changes will be. If we don't get this in on time, we probably want to 
 add the patches from http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107544 or
 similar to get startup notification for documents.

I'm currently looking at michaels threaded ORBit2 work, in preparation for 
using it for a gnome-vfs daemon. The daemon itself doesn't effect the user API 
of gnome-vfs, although perhaps the module plugin API will get some additions.
However, it is a new feature that we might get. Whether we will get this or not
depends on if I can find enought time to do it.
