  Okay, the small rant apart, do you suggest I go dig in to the gconf
parsing code, to try to increase parsing speed ? I could go there once
2.6.0 is finished.
  Do we have some oprofile measures indicating how much gconf initialization
costs when starting a session ? I can feel a few second latency when I
log in my severn box after gdm menu is done and after the gnome "boot"
dialog starts there is a noticeable delay before any startup information
is given. Could that be the cost of the gconfd warmup ? I think I can really
boost performances if there is a large number of files read sequentially.
