Regarding the "enlarging icons on hovering" thing, I think it's a very
good idea, but ahead of our time. GnomeCanvas[1] is too slow for this.
I already hate the selection rectangle of nautilus. It looks great, but
is terribly slow even in a fast computer. A simple rubber-banding with
XOR-drawing lines would be 100x better (more usable) than this.
Before adding eye candy like that, we should wait for a
hardware-accelerated, Cairo-based canvas, IMHO.
[1] I know, it's not GnomeCanvas, I just don't remember the name of the
Nautilus canvas, but both are equally slow.
