I think gDesklets should be part of the desktop.  A lot of the FreeBSD
GNOME users lamented the 2.x upgrade when some of their favorite applets
were no longer usable.  Since gDesklets makes "applet" creation a lot
easier (and it's great eye candy), it adds a much-needed piece to the
desktop.
