GNOME on distros

I plan to put this page on www.gnome.org/start, so people will know how
to get GNOME:
http://www.murrayc.com/temp/index.html

But there's lots of TODO entries there. I still don't know how people
install GNOME on SUSE 9.1, Solaris, JDS, NetBSD, or FreeBSD. I'm looking
for simple things they should do during or after installation to make
GNOME their default desktop.

Please email me (directly only, to save list noise) with your
suggestions.

(It's for people who have no interest in building test versions from
source).
