I really don't know what you are apologising for. I didn't read all
the threads, but you always came across as reasonable. You raised very
important points regarding GNOME's strict criteria of "let's keep
things here", and always gave sound reasoning. Personally I don't like
bzr (slow in my limited experience; I couldn't believe people were
going through such pain) and launchpad (ugly unintuitive design, NIH,
over-designed, slow), but as you pointed out, what's more important is
that the devs in your team preferred the stack.
