I would really appreciate it too :-)
Maybe post 3.10 we can do a GNOME Goal for all the core GNOME modules,
but of course this applies to GNOME, KDE, XFCE and random standalone
apps.
I think a GNOME goal in the next cycle is an excellent idea, but we
should get some modules equipped with this appdata now, so we can gain
some experience with the format before it is set entirely in stone.
