Re: GNOME desktop message

Hello,

Specific icons for coding files used to exist like 20 or 15 years ago, but they were ditched.
I assume one of the reasons for that was the cost of maintaining so many icons, and the number of languages is infinite.

Hello people from GNOME. I'm a computer science student and GNOME desktop user, and while I love using it there's one thing I think is missing. When I save text files written in a certain programming language (let's say it's Java) the Adwaita icon for this file on the GNOME file explorer appears as a generic text file. I see there's an exception for HTML, and maybe for other computing languages as well, but I miss the icons for other languages I work with, such as Java, Python, and _javascript_.

Thank you all for the always-improving GNOME experience and for opening this communication channel so users like me can place their messages to the GNOME devs!
