Pow! An idea occurred. What if I dragged the windows to the right place
on the screen then I went in to preferences and clicked a button
labelled [Start with current layout]? Sounds easier to me. Similar to
setting a home page in a browser. Saves me counting dots on the screen.
(Saves me learning how to count! :-)).
I searched the archive and did not find a similar suggestion.
You're talking about the placement and size of the windows? I believe
there was a similar suggestion a while back, and the general consensus was
that that's the window managers job. Of course, Win32 doesn't have a WM
that allows that, so the idea would be good for them.
We can also compare with Gimp, which remembers the placement of all the
dialogs. I don't know how WM-friendly it is, though.
