Dia 0.94 crash on windows with text tool

Hi,
I've installed dia 0.94 via the binary installer. The program looks good, but ...
when I try to put text into the diagram I can select the text tool, but when clicking on the start point of
the text dia hangs. Is this a problem of not finding a font?
