The obvious way to do this would be to have an external tool for it,
much like AutoDia. Possibly an extension of AutoDia. Dia itself
doesn't yet do automatic layout nor create diagrams from non-diagram
files.
Actually dia can do automatic layout in graphviz, springgraph and vcg,
but it's layout in Dia leaves rather a lot to be desired. Directed
Graphs are hard :(
I'd say dia is the wrong tool for this job - 10 minutes with perl
using GraphViz and WWW::Mechanize should give you a script that can do
the job very nicely.
