dia linux vs. dia windows

I'm trying to read a file using dia for windows. The file has been
created under linux. When I open it, all elements are there, but they
look broken. Lines aren't attached to boxes, and all the boxes are
crammed together. Both versions of dia for windows and dia linux are
the same 0.95...
What's the matter?
