Does this problem only appear on Windows builds? On my 0.96.1-Ubuntu8.04 
Version I can choose the size of the exported PNG-Image.
Export --> File Type "Portable Network Graphics(*.png)" --> Save a pop 
up appears: "PNG Export Options" width + height.
Contrary when selecting "Pixbuff[png](*.png)" as export-filetype no 
"size"-dialog appears.
